Bookish (and not so bookish) Thoughts

bruce-hanging-rock-2017

01. Bruce last week at Hanging Rock. It was a perfect night.

02. I saw Manchester by the Sea this week. It’s very sad. Not in a sudden, shocking way but in a low-grade-two-and-a-half-hours-long way. Related: the soundtrack is superb.

03. So many movies (from books) coming out that I didn’t know about until now – Alias Grace, The Dinner, Tulip Fever, The Circle and The Sense of an Ending.

04. It’s still summer but pre-season training for all of the kids’ winter sports (football, soccer, cross-country and lacrosse) starts next week… *sigh*

05. I’m not even joking when I say I’m going on an interstate gin tour this weekend… *hooray!*

06. This blog about the colours favoured in particular movies.

  1. RE: the Manchester By The Sea soundtrack, is it an instrumental score or is it songs? I’m always looking for snazzy soundtrack music to add to my reading/writing/creating playlist.

That colour blog is incredible. Definitely going to come in handy! Thank you for linking to it!

  2. Am keen to see Manchester by the Sea… am fairly sure I’ll miss it at the movies though. Not sure why I just don’t get my act together and go!

My brother went to see Bruce. He is a HUGE fan. He went in 1985 and I was supposed to go as well but sold my ticket at the last minute as I had just started Uni and was worried about an exam! I’ve always regretted it!

    • Manchester has been nominated for a few Academy Awards so it probably means it will get a long run at the movies.

Funny you remember the circumstances around NOT seeing Bruce – do you recall how you went in the exam?!

  3. I didn’t much care for Eggers The Circle but the movie trailer looks fantastic! Will definitely be watching that.
